I believe God's plan for us will help us grow closer to him and sometimes these stumbles while sometimes can feel like really big falls, can really help us grow and become closer to God. We all have felt the light, seen miracles (Whether big or small) and have wondered what will become of us. The beautiful thing about listening is that we get to choose what we listen to. We have been blessed with agency to listen to the words that god has given us, but we also get to listen to the devil. Sometimes we listen to the devil more than we listen to god and that is because the worlds views are changing over time and they are viewing "Wickedness" as "Happiness". It appears to me that much of the failure rate is the result of an inability to understand what the Church is about. "... as the body of Christ, it [the Church] has nothing to do with an organization and has nothing of the character of the institutional about it." Emil Brummer. As I understand the Scriptures, the Church consists of those who belong to the body of Christ. The foundation is a relationship with the living Jesus Christ, which cannot be undone. The requirements are, mainly, to live in close, loving relationships towards each other. The purpose is to be a living testimony that attracts unbelievers to Jesus. As such, there will be no need for a vision: it is a built-in feature as a result of being led by the Holy Spirit. No staff is required, because each members fulfills his/her role in accordance with their God-given spiritual gifts. There is no core group, just one Leader that all look up to and follow. No worship leader and team need to be recruited; they come ready-made via their gifts. No meeting place is required: they meet wherever they are, in their homes, at work, on the sport field and especially where they reach out. (Which is wherever they come into contact with non-believers) A "marketing plan" is a feature of a wordly, man-made organization. The essence is small, relational groups that also cater to lead the children towards Christian maturity. No volunteer system is required because each member freely and voluntarily contributes his/her gifts for the common good. Assimilation occurs automatically if the body of Christ functions in accordance with Jesus' prayer: “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The congregation is a blend of persons that are committed to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all who we seek the truth. We do not have to worry about diversity because the congregation is filled with persons of all races and ages and financial status who are seeking the truth about Jesus Christ . Persons of many races participate in the Board of Elders , Board of Deacons, the very large Chancel Choir and other leadership positions. My advice is to: preach, teach & live the Gospel of our Lord and they all will come and you will have the greatest "integration" possible.
