Good post. I was slightly wary of what I might find here because of the title, but I totally get it now. The title is also the reason I actually clicked on the link. I'll be writing my contribution to this cause for Marc this week. Nicely done.

Nice work, Heather! There's nothing here that I would be ashamed of. And I'm a guy. These are like battle scars of life.

Good grief. Leave well enough alone, ladies. These are just silly, to me. "Twat toupee" FTW!

Teehee, "butt nugget." Well, I can't unread this, so I might as well post a comment. My ex wife never went into labor (two C-sections), and if she did ever have a hemorrhoid, she was too shy to talk about it with me. It's far better to be open, even if it is about your butt. Oh lord, I just used the words "open" and "butt" in the same sentence. Repressing 12-year-old-boy-style reflexes. (I almost said 12-yo boy impulses. Wrong!) Anyway, I'm sure plenty of women can relate. Good post.

I hate it, too. Cold, gray, shit to do. Michigan winters are no picnic, either. I've been pretty depressed the last couple of months. Seems to get worse every year around this time, and it takes its toll. Not good for the blog, either. I'll probably start to cheer up around March or April, but I'd rather not wait that long.

I'm so glad to see that there are people in this world who take on their roles as parents with gratitude. I often struggle with this! Or at least I think I do. Sometimes I think I'm harder on myself than I need to be when it comes to being a dad. But this is a great reminder that leading a busy life or living for others isn't a bad thing. Why do I ever long for the child-free days when all I really did was order CDs from BMG, watch movies, and eat Twizzlers? (More confirmation that Deb and I would have been fast friends back in the day.) Life is so much richer now, even if it is more stressful.

I'm lucky to consider Deb a friend, if only a "virtual" one so far. Happy Thanksgiving!

Glad to have you back, Heather. I've also taken a bit of a hiatus from blogging, even though I'm online every day. Just been busy. Glad to hear you're all moved in. Sounds like a peaceful spot!
