Every time socialism has been tried, it has resulted in famine, usually intentional, and the deaths of millions. The state knows that hunger is a great way to create a nation of controllable subjects. Know I know what you are talking about. You are talking about this mythical wonderland, where everyone works for the "Common good" and no one wants anything more than what they need. They put in a day's work not for themselves, but for the collective.
Sorry, but that is a pipedream. And your summation of America is ridiculous. Capitalism is a sin? How is socialism so pure? It starts with taking the property of other to give to another. The foundation of socialism is theft. Socialism cannot work because we are a greedy race.
Capitalism allows free will. It allows two people to enter into an arrangement that is beneficial to each other. There is no force involved. They come to an agreement on what will be exchanged freely. If one is no satisfied, the deal is off.
Can you do that with socialism? If one does not want to work for the collective, what then?
