Political Grind : Ferraro Censoring Forgotten in Rev. Wright Hullabaloo

The Democratic party was split during the Civil War, according to what I've just found googling. It wasn't like the Democratic party was voting for slavery, (well, I saw one or two laws that are questionable). Also, a woman's right to vote was established by Democrats.

Hmm. As I research more it appears the Republican party was more anti-slavery but not really anti-segregation. The Democrats were not as strongly anti-slavery but in the '60s became the party of African Americans as they led the civil rights movement.

I've never in my life claimed a whole party or even a large minority of the Republican party is anything but homophobic.

The only reason the Republican party hasn't had to deal with the issue of race, gender, religion, etc. is because the Republican party is largely made up of white male Christian men. But I agree with you on the whole Clinton is at least partly succeeding because she is a woman and Obama because he is black.

Not sure about this part though: "The Democrat Party, in vain efforts to make up for its past alliances with organizations such as the Ku Klux Klan, the leadership of the Confederate States of America, and the most staunch opposition leaders of the women’s suffrage movement"

I had doubts when I wrote the story as well (too many variables don't appear to be taken into account).

Alas, I am only the humble reporter. Ask the creators of the study.

Political Grind : Obama vs. Clinton - Feb 21st Debate

I actually have to agree with you. It looked like she was going to get with a possible final blow, she managed to scrape out a few half-decent attacks.

The two candidates positions are so similar on the issues the majority of the public cares about it's really hard for both of them to say anything against each other.
