I'm a what you see is what you get kind of girl. I DO general post my most tolerable pics as profile pics... but I also post random- real me pics etc all the time.

However- my target audience is "real moms" and one of my main messages is: being real, is better than being perfect.

I think it depends on your purpose for utilizing social media.

That said- I have met people that I could barely recognize from their online personna. I find that annoying and uncomfortable/awkward.

70 weeks ago @ Maurilio Amorim - Is Self Promotion Evil? · 0 replies · +1 points

Agreed- it may or may not be.

I am more likely to promote ideas to engage in dialog- not so much promote my self...

When I focus on promoting an idea.. and a message...that's relevant and necessary... I don't feel like I'm so close to the line of evil demarcation.....(evil line of demarcation? Whatever, you know what I mean.)

However- there ARE days wen its all about me..writing is fun and getting laughs makes me feel great....and when people like what I write- i feel like they like ME.

Fortunately- I have people who love me enough to let me know when I'm crossing that line:)

Agree.

Social media turns an organization into a movement- of individuals.

agree. also a huge issue is creating a restrictive social media policy after a social media catastrophe.

I've watched it happen- it throws the baby out with the bath water.

Accountability? Absolutely. Every employee needs to know that their "social media footprints" could be CSI investigated at any moment. If you shouldn't say it- post it do it don't.

But, for pete's sake if someone DOES- don't steal the potential connection/ revenue/ brand awareness/ ministry our from under those who don't.

(it's possible this is a touchy issue for me at the moment. )

it's so hard to stand on the outside-- watching and waiting while the heart beats and the blood drains... I'm in that place currently- and I don't know what the outcome will be for a friend...I also don't know what it SHOULD be... but I'll say this.. it's hard to watch. necessary sometimes- but hard to watch.

Also hard to know when to stop the bleeding or do CPR or just wait....

yeah this could be slightly relevant to me right now.

we go currently go to: life church (so as not to be confused for the dead church down the road- only zombies go there. but it falls under the good stuff or double noun category.

Previously went to metro-south- yup- a GPS church
and NorthRidge- definitely an LLBean church

before that: Tri-city Christian Center (now known as: connections ) apparently I love the GPS thing....

for a living? hmmm

my life's work is to encourage and equip moms to make a better world. I'm a free-lance writer, speaker and leader of women...

don't make a living at it...but I make a pretty good life of it:)

(I have worked as a volunteer with MOPS International for almost 20 years- formerly served as a pastoral counselor specializing in children/ women and teens...(also- volunteer) officially: I am a Mom. )

I live in Canton, Michigan:)

purple cows need frequent color changes. Like my hair.

If we do the same things- the same ways we blend into the background. If we change EVERYTHING we lose brand identity. That sucks.

It's in finding the balance in just enough change that we maintain out stand-out-ness and brand at the same time.

A change of color without a change of cut, in hair terms.
A change of topic, but not style- in writing talk.
A change of market space, not product in mktg.....
