Yeah. I have this problem. I get it with video as well. Just playing something on the iPad via iTunes on the computer fixes it. The iPad will re-index itself after you disconnect and try to play some media. I hopes this gets fixed in 4.3 coming in December

Reeder for iPad. i find that to be the perfect solution for me. It lacks the picture previews of Pulse, but I think it is a far more sexy product.
