I think it's the scene where he's smoking and eating tons of food in the restaurant.

My wife loves that movie, so I see it every other month or so. In fact, if it wasn't Thursday and the night of her stories, I would probably be watching it tonight.

Just don't try to kill yourself. Or claim to be God, whether "the" God or "a" god.

When I was consulting, I was told in the last two months of my contract that they had some leads where they were going to place me, but nothing solid. With two weeks to go, the account manager basically fired me over voice mail and wouldn't even meet face-to-face with me when I went to turn in my badge. Funny thing was that my wife and I met on my last week there and 6 months later, we were married!

Where did you find those? Aren't they out of print? I loved that series... Encyclopedia Brown too.

I'm actually reading some other person's blog right now while I have Ricky's on in the background.

I'm reading a book called Soul Identity by Dennis Batchelder. It's kind of a "meh" for me, but the only reason I got it was because it was free in the Kindle store.

I'm not sure I have a favorite book... I have books that I have liked, but I never re-read a book after having read it once. I guess that would be the definition of a "favorite book" to me.

That's a great letter... my wife lost her job about 2 months into our marriage, and our mortgage was only about a month older. We were freaked out for a little while, but she was persistent about finding another job and got one 2 weeks later. God provided so well that we never missed a payment between her severance and waiting for the her job to kick in.

Also, tried 3 years for a baby, needed fertility to get the first one, and got two more without needing the extra help (the last one was unplanned). Just crazy how God works.

My father-in-law is like this. Between me, my wife, her sister, and our brother-in-law, he has told us each a different major that he had in college. In reality, he dropped out of college, went into the Marines, and then went AWOL. Yet, he claimed all these great things about himself to cover up.

He's led a sad life based solely on poor decisions. Two divorces. A third marriage that he is unhappy in and making his wife unhappy. Two estranged daughters out of five kids. I think he poses to prop himself up in front of others, but when you call him out on his posing, watch out... he gets nasty in a hurry. Probably a self-defense tactic.

It wasn't a big deal to me when I got married, but now he's doing it to my kids... promising to take them in at his house in the Smokies for a week. Undermining us to them behind (or sometimes in front of) our backs. Playing favorites. He sent one of my two daughters a birthday present in August and never made good. Fortunately, they had plenty so it wasn't a big deal, but we couldn't say who it was from because the other would wonder about her present.

It's just sad because he nearly died this spring because he doesn't take care of his health. I know where he's headed. He still talks himself up to feel better. He just doesn't get it, and he continues to alienate his family.

Technically, there is no "s" after the apostrophe if the plural noun ends with an "s".

Our old church had a "porn and pancakes" men's breakfast once. That's probably one of the reasons why it's our old church now.
