Nothing in life is perfect, especially when it has to be administered by a human. Health care is of vital importance to me because I struggle with debilitating pain and illness on a daily basis. I haven't been to a doctor in over a year. Why you ask? I can't afford it.

Employers do not currently care about their employees when they become ill. My husband suffered two strokes in a week; his employer's reaction? Pay us 25% more than your short-term disability payments to continue your benefits while you get well, or we'll drop you.

The only reason I've been holding on right now is because my husband and I share some basic medical issues which allowed for me to use his medication (including his asthma rescue inhalers) when I was in trouble. Now, he has no health care either, and you're telling me, that's just too bad? I don't think that's fair and I don't think anyone would feel the same if the shoe was on the other foot.
