Well, that means there are more than 8% actually playing on a Mac (if they are just taking into account which OS is running the Steam app). Lots of us still have to use Boot Camp because of the outdated graphics drivers in OS X.

The good part about it is I'm not going to be worried about buying games on Steam anymore. Knowing that my next Mac will be able to play all all of the games natively makes me crap-my-pants happy.

The BAD part about it is the next Mac coming into our house is likely going to the wife. ;( …unless she goes for an iPad.

Them mentioning Apple over and over isn't about changing Apple's mind, it's a tactical move to try and turn as many consumers as they can against the iPhone/iPad. They realize Apple isn't going to budge on this issue unless people start avoiding their products. It's about all they really can do at this point …other than, you know, making the product a "must have". (as stated above)

It's sad to see a company that had no problem conveniently killing off multiple apps for Apple systems pleading to the government to make Apple play nice now.

They just released a brand new mobile product, and they are about to ship a significant revision to their iPhone OS …of course they want the majority of the information to be about those two things.

What new has happened on the Mac dev side over the past year? Not much.

When 10.7 is announced I expect them to crank the attention back up on Macs.

Good to hear that they may have a workable solution.

…and when people start rating your app 2-stars because it doesn't act like a normal iPhone app or doesn't have key features, people will just buy a competing app instead.

More targets != more sales.

We aren't missing it, that goes back to the "lowest common denominator" discussion. Being able to build once and deploy to multiple targets means you won't be getting all the features specific to individual platforms.
