Not stopping them from what they do to Palestinians is an amoral and immoral thing to do, considering past support for Israel is what has made their total control and continuing brutal occupation possible.

HIlary Clinton told the pakistanis -(paraphrasing) hey, you don't have to take our aid, but if you do there are concessions that have to be made. This is fantasy thinking that the US would be consistent and fair anyway. The israeli belligerence toward iran might be to get the world off their backs about this issue.

From the document link: A note on translation:

The quality of the English translation provided to the CTC is not adequate throughout. When the translation was deemed inadequate, quotations cited in this report have either been amended or translated anew by Nelly Lahoud. Furthermore, the conversion of the dating of the letters from the Hijri to the Gregorian calendar is inaccurate in some places. The Appendix provides corrected dates to some of the letters, along with some pointers on how some letters relate to others. For those wishing to conduct their own analysis of the documents, it is highly recommended to refer to the original Arabic documents, not the translations.

And to the Author John Glaser.. shshh. Every unforced error is blessing. Let them score their own goals.

there are precedents.

Boricua Popular Army and specifically Pedro Albizu Campos

In 1948, a bill was introduced before the Puerto Rican Senate which authorized the repeated arrest of Albizu Campos, and a round-the-clock surveillance of every Nationalist in Puerto Rico. The Senate at the time was controlled by the PPD and presided by Luis Muñoz Marín.[21]

The bill, known as Law 53 and the Ley de la Mordaza (Gag Law), passed the legislature on May 21, 1948 and was signed into law on June 10, 1948, by the U.S.-appointed governor of Puerto Rico Jesús T. Piñero. It closely resembled the anti-communist Smith Law passed in the United States - and it created as much chaos on the island, as Senator Joseph McCarthy and the House Un-American Activities Committee did, on the mainland U.S.[22]

Under this law it became a crime to own or display a Puerto Rican flag anywhere, even in one's own home. It also became a crime to speak against the U.S. government; to speak in favor of Puerto Rican independence; to print, publish, sell or exhibit any material intended to paralyze or destroy the insular government; or to organize any society, group or assembly of people with a similar destructive intent.

Anyone accused and found guilty of disobeying the law could be sentenced to ten years imprisonment, a fine of $10,000 dollars (US), or both.

The repugnant politicos who gladly sell themselves for 30 pieces of silver to back the equivalent of Jim Jones and the peoples temple (wanted for murder in Iran and Iraq) forward them as an even sicker version of the Shah reign of terror, could be used as a way to free TV broadcasters, but unfortunately it's too late for Alawaki.

This is about the mobs money that Roberto Calvi was washing through the banko Ambrosioano then it would move to the vatican bank and on to Switzerland. When he was murdered there was no proof it was theirs. The Church told the mafia and/or P2 group to go jump in the lake. After the assassination attempt on the pope and the kidnapping of the little girl De Pedis went to the church and negotiated that they would pay them some of the money with out admitting guilt. I imagine the internment was a deal for ending the war between the mafia and the church. the stuff about the bulgarians and the KGB being behind the pope's assassination was disinformation by the CIA because of the cold war. They were trying to get the catholic polish people to break away.

no. getting used to it is why these trial balloons are floated. When the public stops squealing, they view it as a green light.
20,000 Americans should go camping in Iran- to "occupy" potential bomb areas.

That is magical thinking.
Peace talks are a ruse, a red herring while they steal everything.

It should be decoupled from occupation. They should withdrawl completely from the West Bank, and open a corridor to Gaza, guarded by Palestinians. Settlers can become palestinians or leave.

Even Italy, the location of Rome who hosts the Vatican and who has the largest population of Catholics, is going to start charging the Vatican property taxes for buildings, businesses, schools that are not entirely concerned with worship. It's about time.
