Writing, emailing or calling capital hill will help the reality of investigation/punishment possible. "We the people" are making a difference. Americans derailed immigration "reform", we are making a huge impact on nixing obamacare and if we let the chumps on the hill know we are paying attention, it will make a difference with this issue as well.
Let those in Washington know that we are watching, they must actually serve, not just run a good campaign.
