The fundamental principle is that you either agree that ALL of scripture is God breathed (2 Tim 3:16), or you don't. If your premise is that it is NOT then you've destroyed its message and integrity as you grant yourself the "right" to cherry pick those principles that mesh with your proclivities and discard the rest.

Further, you're taking my comments off point by attempting to blur the lines between "religion" and "Christianity". Christianity is defined by Scripture, religion is defined by men. It is not my job to reconcile a religion's particular tradition with the 10 commandments.
