Which "AUTHORITY" do they wish us to respect exactly? The "AUTHORITY" to speak on spiritual matters? Or the "AUTHORITY" to commit assault?

Speaking of which, why doesn't Jim Wallis see that coveting thy neighbors goods is an assault on the gospel, not the essence of it?

The reason people come here is because their own nation is corrupt, unprosperous, unprincipled, and totalitarian. Who wouldn't want to flee? If South America were based on principles of economic and political freedom, it too would become an immigration destination.

You have the choice of living in Europe if you choose. I say, if you like the European model, stay there.

I prefer the US, having lived in Europe for a couple years. I also prefer the States to determine their laws and not the Federal Government because according to the 10th Amendment, they have no jurisdiction over this issue.

With all due respect to your mother ian, My mom is in the same situation, BUT, it's Social Security which did her in. When Dad died, the Social Security gods yanked away half her income. Now she's out working to make ends meet. Another utopian share the wealth redistribution scheme fails to pan out.

Each new generation gets sucked progressively further into the government bailout vortex, this is not a new political trick. The only thing new is the suckers from the new generation who actually fall for it EVERY TIME.

I don't think anything is a done deal. This is still a representative government and we the people must do what's right even if we are not optimistic about the outcome. Even if the wrong side has the votes, our conduct must be exemplary, and we can do that by protesting to our "leaders", who happen to have made and are making wrong choices. If they make the wrong choice they should hear about it loud clear so they are left without excuse.

When she resigned her job as governor, she was putting the office first, and dirty sleazy politics second. This demonstrates that she can not only lead, she can lead with an understanding of correct government principles. She didn't "abandon" Alaska, she showed that her motives are more pure than any other government official's.
The Democrat goon squad, in the shape and form of the media, are scared to death of her.

Talk about no-brainer! Compare Sarah to anyone currently in power. Yup. That's right. I'd take her over anybody, INCLUDING Romney. And I'm a Mormon so it ain't 'religious' discrimination.
