I would like to see you address these issues directly without the character assaults that get in the way of my hearing what you are actually trying to say. This article is a very good article for your personal journal, however, your actual message is buried somewhere in the middle of the assault upon the Republican Party and Newt Gingrich.
I would like to hear what you have to say. I do not want to wade through the bloody mess of attacks. If you want to reach people other than the already convinced, keep it simple and direct.
What is the error made?
What is the accurate picture?
What is the solution?
I would like to know how to get the community involved. They are all dependent on government checks and are comfortable in receiving them. Even when I break through the darkness in small areas, the big spending mindset continues to overwhelm the light. "Families First is only "sure of funding" for the next two years..." yada. What individual is "sure of funding" for two whole years? Universities have more "community outreach" professionals in Washington D.C. lobbys than on their own campuses. Everybody is sure that one more degree will land that non-existent job. They actually believe they can't do without medicare, insurance, quarterly doctor visits, pain pills, heart pills, blood sugar medicine.... How do you change the way people think? The culture has been educated into ignorance and there is no place for sound reason to get a foothold.
I understand the big problem in congress is the staffers who have a 30-40 year knowledge of how to work the big government system to prevent progress for another four years until another group of newbies come in. We need to get rid of the unelected staffers and make the congressional representatives stay within their own restricted budgets. As long as unelected staffers have the veto power over our representatives they will be the rudder that keeps us headed in the wrong direction.
I loved jb's comments in response to the Stratfor pretense of "caring" report. It is hard to imagine the length, depth and breadth of foolishness and ignorance that inhabits the bodies of those who come up with this nonsense. I pray that God will give the people of this nation a hunger and thirst for righteousness and that he will turn this nation around and bring them back to him and back to the foundations of our Constitution. Without the help of God, we are without a hope. If God's people do not turn from trusting in government to provide for them, protect them and direct them he will not heal our land, he requires repentance in order to help. It would be like General Patton marching to take Berlin and his army marching toward France. If we won't go in the same direction as our God, how can we expect God to help us?
There are problems reaching this server through the links and I am completely unable to get to the page for signing the petition. I hope someone can fix this.
This sounds very much like "guiotine, guiotine". I am trying to imagine how this could be accomplished administratively. The problem is, that every government action (and bureaucracy designed for action) requires another government oversight reaction (and bureaucracy designed for reaction).
We would have to burn all of the law books, all of the tax codes, all of the house and senate operations manuals, what would happen to the empty buildings where these bureaucracies used to reside? Even when they were burned, we would have to come up with a replacement system. Who would be in charge of installing the new system?
Frankly, folks. I think this is the problem we are facing. We have allowed this slide to progress to the point where we are in a world of hurt. It will be a long hard haul, fighting every day with our sword of truth in one hand and our brick and mortar in the other hand.
Yes, it is time to return to the roots of our nation and become strong and courageous in our fight against injustices. We must be faithful to endure until we see the size of government reduced, the power of government curtailed and the authority of the constitution restored or until Jesus returns, whichever comes first.
Your end to the nanny state sounds depressingly similar to the socialist version of utopia. Wasn't the slave plantation a good example of assigning a true nanny to pay their bills and provide them food, make it hard and make it embarrassing? It didn't end their dependency.
God had a good plan. He called it the year of jubilee. Every 50 years, everyone got to shed their mortgage and get completely out of debt. It provided a financial cycle that was perpetually breathing. In year 1 the rich could loan money to the poor (and would be willing to do so for a period of 50 years), by the time the 49th year came along, investors would be holding back on their investments because if they loaned a lot of money in the year before jubilee they would lose a lot of money. It kept the scales balanced. No one could permanently foreclose on property because every fifty years the property went back to the owner or the owner's heirs. The successful farmers farmed and made a profit. The less successful farmed less and made less. It was a self-controlling valve that kept the economy flowing.
How sad that the liberal liars have won again. This thread is all about Grayson. How many of you remember that the conservative candidate's name is Daniel Webster? Repeat the name of the guy you support and tell the truth about why you support him. Name recognition is a big percentage of the battle.
Yeah, they already have a mega-Department of Education and have bought the union votes now they need to smile for those useful idiots who will tag along after all their flowery words and the trail of breadcrumbs. I am always saddened by the fact that my own sister is a lifelong teacher who will fall for the most liberal conservative position every time she assesses a candidate. It is because she doesn't have the least understanding of what it means to say no to evil that speaks softly and smiles while offering her poison apples.
Kids need time at home with their mom, dad, sisters and brothers. Year round government indoctrination is a very painful thought.
