Trust me, Im not here to discredit the police officers or firefighters (im a FF myself, which is why i know how dispatch would be so tough :o ). The general public constantly calling, talking to where you can hardly hear them, talking hysterically, complaining, etc. Then you have police and fire barking orders at them and getting upset (not because of the dispatcher, just the general nature of high stress situations where things need to get done right NOW).

Tough job, i could never do it. A good dispatcher is very important.

Good for him for doing it for so long. Being a dispatcher has got to the be one of the worst jobs in the world. The stuff they have to deal w/ it beyond incredible. He (and other dispatchers) have all the respect in the world from me.
