OMNINOGGIN : How Do You Plugin/Theme Developers Make Money?

That is the most common monetization model for sure. The only problem is, the amount of effort developers put into their plugins and site is tremendous. If they were to put the same amount of effort elsewhere in a different niche, they can make 10x the money easy.

Hi @paulgailey, Yeah I have to keep policing this stuff. It's kind of a pain. Now-a-days it's just not worth policing this stuff since I don't get money for my plugins anyway. Lots of great WP plugins now stopped developing plugins since there is really no money in it for them.

Nice detective work Rafael. You would also have to turn WP Super Cache in half-on mode right? If not then the htaccess rules will just redirect users to a static file and PHP is never ran.

OMNINOGGIN : How Do You Plugin/Theme Developers Make Money?

Are you a plugin developer? No? How about a thank you? I have ads because I don't want people to pay for my plugins. If I don't get paid somehow, I can't afford to code for free. If I go premium my plugins will be ad-less, but I'm not planning on it. If you say I steel people's code then many other plugin devs steal from my code too (including some big time developers). It's called GPL. Learn your facts before you slander. It's people like you who make me not want to continue coding for the WP community. You want everything for free (plugin, support, time) and cry about it when you don't get it. Good thing there are lots of other great people in this community that keep me around or else I would pull all of my plugins right now so that I can stop supporting bad apples like you.

I am 100% sure the ads code did not break your site since it's being ran though an iframe in WP Admin. Figure out your facts before you make wild claims. Yeah... watch how fast I don't delete this message.

OMNINOGGIN : Using jQuery to Easily Dofollow/Nofollow Links

Why wouldn't they? It seems pretty easy to do and that is their business. I'd imagine their crawler to do something like: 1. Fetch page 2. Evaluate JavaScript 3. Analyze HTML for content, links w/ nofollow, etc. 4. ??? 5. ??? 6. Profit! If they dofollow all JavaScript links even if there is a nofollow tag on those links, then we are in trouble if we use 3rd party comment platforms like Disqus & Intense Debate (have dofollow links in the comment thread). You would be leaking all kinds of link juice if Google didn't abide to nofollow in JavaScript. Given how easy it is to do it, it wouldn't hurt to nofollow all those links by JavaScript.

OMNINOGGIN : How to Add Ads Inside Your Post Content

The best solution requires a bit of coding knowledge. To keep it simple, it sounds like you should just duplicate the code and change inject_ad_text_after_n_chars() to inject_ad_text_after_n_chars_2() for the duplicate code.
