I love that you just experienced this too. And even for trusted friends, constructive criticism is still hard. I need to remind myself that when a trusted friend of mine critiques or challenges me then I really need to consider their intentions. Being close friends then I surely trust their intentions toward me...you know? So I really need to let their words settle in my heart and trust them with it.

Yah, you and I moved countries away from what we're both used to. It is definitely different. Tho I have found some amazing friends here. I am blown away how God has blessed me with trusted women in Nashville. Very grateful. I pray the same blessing over you, friend. I know its tough.
