How did they go to far? All they said was take it down and did you pirate the game because your review is pre release.

So the big bad pimp microsoft whipped out his flacid penis and the two bit whore still put the jelly in his mouth and serviced it anyway. Don't feel bad, much bigger sites do the same thing.

in other news, publishers pay for favourable reviews on gaming sites and the sun is hot.

Maybe comic con was the first time they actually paid attention to the general renewed buzz there has been surrounding an x-wing tie fighter remake since they updated Monkey Island and rereleased some of their older games via Steam.

I'd be satisfied with an' enhanced' version rather than a complete remake, especially if it was cheap. I can't imagine the updated Monkey Island took a whole lot of work compared to developing a brand new game.

First of, thanks, podcasts are great and I can never have enough!...

ok, this was not a terrible first effort and you get better and more interesting after 10-15 minutes. But come on guys, you're an mmosite and you basically start off asking what you've been playing and when one guy says no mmo's and someone else says there's "nothing much about"? I did a double take and wondered if the podcast player was playing the wrong show.

It is pretty good during the last 15 mins when you all find your voices a bit better and have more confidence to chat more. But don't have a "What we've been playing" section at the start if you've got nothing to say, it's a really bad intro to the show. Looking forward to the next one, I love podcasts and I always play mmo's listening to a podcast playlist going in the background.

There will no doubt be some people who will at least say it's a great idea, whether they would actually put up money is another matter of course, but yeah, it's fucking terrible.

Huge long delays where Valve could make more money from the interest from investing it or just sticking it in a savings account. Or shorter dev times and just a weak sequel produced which could of just been a mod, L4D 2.

There are a lot of downsides and risk for the customer and nothing but advantages for Valve. This isn't something new or revolutionary, it's just the communites sychophantic "Thank-you" threads going to their heads. Raising investment is a basic of business and of course businesses always want more but exploiting your loyal customers is a bit of a stretch for me.

Saying all that I did buy a Mount&Blade license for £8.56 back in 2006 ($15) whilst it was in beta, which I guess has similarities with Gabe's 'idea' but the beta back then was basically the full working game and Taleworlds were a pretty small indy developer.

or maybe I'm just a two faced bitch :)

Could be good, although for some reason I still prefer the original look. This way seems to make the faces float inside the helmets. Something just doesn't look right about it compared to the original.

Fuck, it's nothing like what I was expecting after reading early game previews in print magazines. Still, I guess it could be ok. Don't like this sort of fake cell shaded look with the thick black lines outlining everything though. At least in Champions Online they're going to give you the option to turn that feature off.

Actually got bored watching this, you use voice actors a lot, I get it. Could've been done in about a minute.

The thing I'm most looking forward to is the controversy that will be raised when people figure out they will be charged a subscription to play what is essentially a single player game. Which is what it looks like from everything I've read about it. Sort of like Neverwinter Nights persistant worlds or Guild Wars but with lots of quests and dialogue, except you pay for it monthly.

Yep, definitely been looking forward to Borderlands. Will probably be more forgiving of anything I don't like about it than I was towards Fallout 3, just because it's not (ab)using the fallout name.

Not that I know much about Borderlands anyway, could be more like Bioshock which was originally touted as an FPS with RPG elements than the questing method Fallout 3 uses. Hoping it's gameplay more like Fallout 3 than Bioshock though.
