My great great grandparents were poor farmers in Oklahoma and Arkansas. We've all had to suffer some prejudices in life. Fat people are discriminated against, people over 40 are sometimes passed over in jobs because of their age, etc etc. But you move past it and do the best you can. In essence, you work around it. Maybe start a new company, take up a diet and exercise plan to lose weight but to wallow endlessly is just sickening. It really does. OMG it incenses me. I remember when my mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness. She died a few years later. My brother and I supported her and paid for her medications until her SS was approved. A few months after her SS was approved she had to go into a nursing home as we couldn't give her licensed 24 hour care. We were never reimbursed by the feds. I remember my Mom crying because she was being given the runaround. It was only when my brother threatened to throw a tire threw the window of the SS office they woke up and took care of my Mom. And to hear that these recent immigrants can get SSI? It's sickening. I'm seriously mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore. I see them at the beach every day when I'm out surfing. They gobble up a bag of chips, swished down by a 12 or 16 oz syrupy coke and then come home to a frozen dinner full of preservatives. Cut the waste and the spending, stop all healthcare and government services to illegal aliens and you'll see a difference.
