I love when Malcolm Gladwell, in Outliers I think, talks about the cultural differences between who bears the responsibility for understanding communication. Of course North Americans line right up with you're post, but evidently Brazilians feel very differently...Interesting to think about at least.

I wonder if there are churches that use templates like play-calling in football (the pace isn't much different!) If you had 5 templates (probably each with cool names like "MI:2", "GoldenEye", "Easter") they could be switched up to create the illusion of "variety" with the time-savings of a template.

It's so hard for us creative people too, because there's all that excitement and gusto at the beginning of a big project, even though it's going to take a long time after that. Have you seen the TED video (http://www.ted.com/talks/derek_sivers_keep_your_goals_to_yourself.html) (4 min) that makes the case against telling people what you're *going* to do? Sometimes just telling someone is enough to take the wind out of my sails to actually get it done.
