My experience has been that the key to successful potty training is patience. There will be many accidents, but eventually one day everything will click and you will have a child who is potty trained! The key for me with potty my daughters was to make the switch from diapers/pullups to underwear. Once they were wearing underwear they could really feel when they had an accident. They were potty trained soon after. It's messy and annoying, but works.

They're all beautiful, but I especially like #1.
