a D300 w/ SB-800 isn't exactly ghetto! That's pretty nice gear if you ask me.

one little suggestion, instead of pocket wizards you should check out Alienbees CyberSync options. They're a fraction of the price and do the same job. I got mine back in the fall and love them. There's so much more flexibility!

I personally shoot with a D200 and SB-80DX (a generation behind your setup)...I have some studio gear, but most of the time I stick to just the D200 with some nice glass and leave the flash at home.
