he has kept the US a safe place since 9/11.

I doubt Obama will be able to do the same with a quick closure of Guantanamo, a quick withdraw from Iraq, his issues with international wiretapping and his no-precondition policy.

All it takes to become painfully clear what Bush did offer is a new strike in the US.

Concerning hard-drives: the industry standard is that if you overwrite everything 7 times, the stuff that was on it before isn't retrievable any longer.
There is software that does it for you. Might come in handy, especially since people don't like buying smashed hard drives. ;)
