Yes, once you create a child theme you will get just a white page, think of it as a clean canvas! You can copy and paste the style.css content from the OnePress framework theme if you need a little more of a jump start.
I recommend using Pages in WordPress for each of your games. You can then present the navigation for those however you would like.

To accomplish those boxes next to each other, I use a little OnePress and CSS magic. All the tools you need to accomplish this are contained within OnePress. You will, however, want to create a child theme for heavy customization like this.
What I do is utilize the "Extra class" field that each OP widget contains. Upon providing the widgets with their extra class i.e. "dev_snapshots," I then go into my CSS for the child theme I'm creating and float them left or right by defining the class i.e. div.dev_snapshots{}
