I thought I was going to disagree with you until the last line.

I think Pixar haven't drawn attention to it simply for the reason they see him as a character in their film not a asian-american character but just a character. In my eyes thats far better than endlessly pointing out he's "not white". They just had a story and a character they loved and ran with him.

yeah Im not loving that idea. so what they take Johns skin and put it on Marcus, which would mean the 1st films where totally pointless or would john still be "john" but just have a terminator skeleton?

I can see the thinking behing it but for me it just doesnt fit in with the pervious films.

The whole point is we are the under-dogs but through bravery, human spirit and sacrifice we come out on top. Making it so its a terminator that saves us takes away from that. A terminator who used to be human or not.

I know they're saying the future is different and all but the really are changing everything.

I the 1st film they hadnt figured out timetravel fully yet and they were sent back from a time near the end of the war not the start or middle like this film is set. so they are even more advanced in the future than they would of been without the original films events taking place.

still cant wait for this though. ignoring T3 the terminators are in my top films of all time.
