I have to say I'm shocked. I don't know if it's good or bad shocked, just shocked. I just loved telling people how I used a search engine conceived and built by one guy. I guess that's still true.

Anyway, keep up the great work, and keep up the posting about your work.

Best of all is that you said you'd have an announcement in seven days, and you did it. True, it's just an announcement of an announcement, but it counts.

Can't wait to see what will be doing.

The one thing you might blog on next is what the Top50 thing means for DDG, in terms of traffic or any intangibles.

Awesome insights, thanks!

I'm pretty sure you mean that you "won" that award.

The other element of this whole scenario is the fact that so many big corporations are sitting on so much cash, and yet aren't hiring. That trend will likely continue, but maybe they'll use some of that cash to grow through acquisitions. Then they "hire" the team that they already know is successful and they get a new product thrown in.

I don't use a blackberry, but I keep gmail open nearly all day, so it will be great to do DDG searches right from the place I spend the most time.

Colorado companies continue to just do great. Glad to see yet another good exit for Mike Stemple.

Great idea, but why not take advantage of the rivalry between the schools? Do exactly what you say, but do it times 5: MIT, Caltech, Stanford, a military school and a team of engineering students from junior colleges, or whatever. Just something so that more people from diverse backgrounds get to contribute in ways that will help all the others.

It's funny that you bring that scene up. I think I commented on that scene on your blog just a few weeks ago. We should have a "13" film festival. (But no Friday the 13ths.)

Lastly, I just blogged about how people are expecting a political solution to the oil spill, and that's just plain silly: http://www.sco.tt/scott_yates/2010/06/the-oil-spi...
The good news, however, is that the spill won't create a water problem.
