When we went to trial for his sentencing, our family was allowed to speak. When he was given his turn to say something to our grieving family, he refused and his lawyer apologized for him. When the judge asked him if he was responsible for this accident, all he said was "that's what they tell me".

The offender in my son's death was also a repeat offender, but the state decided that since his record wasn't fairly recent, that "he did not deserve the harshest sentence".
You can read about my son and the news articles about his case here: http://matthew-moore.virtual-memorials.com/main.p...
Christine--if you read these posts, I would love to speak in person with you.
God Bless!
