<description>It&amp;#039;s got to be interoperable with SMTP/POP clients, right? Otherwise it&amp;#039;ll never work. It&amp;#039;d be crazy if you could only send Waves to people who were using Wave. I presume when you send a Wave to someone who isn&amp;#039;t using it, it acts like a normal email. </description>

<description>I think you&amp;#039;re right about your second point. Wave will need to be interoperable with POP/SMTP email otherwise Wave is going to be a closed garden that only works with other Wave addresses - that will kill it immediately. </description>
