I do that when chasing a vehicle asking it to let me hop in and they're ignoring me. 50% of the time they then actually STOP (and/or reverse) to let me in.

The driver of a tank accelerating full speed away from me as I start to repair it is so freaking annoying, especially when it then promptly explodes from a mine/rocket/whatever.
