Thanks for the list of Republicans who voted in favor of insanity. I don't have a lot of money but I will contribute to anyone who runs against them in their primary or, if not a primary state, I'll even support a moderate Democrat. The sad thing is neither party cares about us. It is time for a third party even though the financial deck is stacked against the formation of one.
chris, please let me know who the sensible people are that we can vote for. To me, they are all the same. Only looking to line their pockets at the taxpayer's expense. We somehow or other must get around the Supreme Courts ruling that term limits are unconstitutional. The founding fathers never meant for government SERVICE to be a lifetime cash cow for a non productive few.
Some cities have started a program like this already. It gets rid of blight, potential crack houses, and helps to maintain the property value of well maintained properties. They also sell the land to local residents at a very low price but up their property taxes to account for the increased land area they hold.
Of course it's cooler in Chicago. Obama took most of the hot air with him to Washington.
The only real domestic auto makers left in this country are foreign cars and in that only specific models. e.g. Mazda with the exception of the Miata and RX8 are made in this country. Mercedes SUV's are made in America. Ford buys its transmissions from Mexico and it's engines from Canada. There is no such thing as a truly American car. But, at least Ford, following in the footsteps of it's founder who refused to comply with FDR's fiscal policies, didn't ask the taxpayer to bail them out.
I hate to say it, but even if we had a "new congress" it will just be more of the same. Democrats, Republicans they are both the same, just tell different lies. The only way to stop the corruption of our elected representatives is to limit their terms of service. But the Supreme Court, already in the pockets of the progressive movement, ruled term limits were illegal.
Please note that dealerships in Barney Frank's district aren't being closed. "Best interests"" of the company? Not likely. Not much difference between the closing of dealerships in politically influential locations than the closing of Military Bases by a "Non Partisan" commission supposedly free of political influence.
I will support this President when he starts supporting the Constitution of the United States. I supported JFK and went to Viet Nam. I followed the orders of LBJ and went back to Viet Nam twice. I will not support someone who will give constitutional rights to those who assassinate American Civilians nor will I support someone who believes the United States is an evil torturing nation.
Florida is not the only state that requires you register with one party or the other. Alabama also requires it. However, if you weren't registered by party and could vote in any primary what is to stop you from voting AGAINST a candidate that could beat your's? This ploy seemed to be used by democrats in several states that don't require a party registration.
Now the democrats in congress want to change the way cattle are fed because their farts and burps release methane gas and help create global warming. The lunacy of the far left environmentalists is frightening. Too bad they weren't around in 1815-1880 when huge herds of buffalo roamed the great plains. The herds were so large it could take days for them to pass a given point. Buffalo, like cattle are ruminents yet we didn't suffer from global warming then. In 1815 a large volcano erupted, it lead to the year without a summer, 1816, with snow in New England in June. Surely all that methane would have countered the global cooling resulting from the eruption. Apparently the best way to end global warming is to exile Al Gore and his fellow lunatic environmentalists to Mars.
