Reinhart Marketing Group : Data Supporting Why To Avoid Flash On Your Website

Thanks for the feedback, Lukasz. For clients that can afford it and have a legitimate business reason, I recommend creating a mobile friendly version of their website. But the reality is many small business clients wont pay for it. After experimenting with a number of plugins for popular Content Management Systems (CMS), I've noticed that they don't usually create a delightful mobile browsing experience without extensive customization. Ultimately, each business needs to evaluate what their prospect uses and determine how to provide the ideal web experience in the prospect's desired medium.

Reinhart Marketing Group : Mobile Apps for Business - Feb 25, 2011

We had a good turnout. There was a lot of discussion in the first half hour about privacy and platform issues. The second half was about apps. Here's the list. Unfortunately we didn't record this session so you wont benefit from all the narration around each app ...and how it can be useful. Enjoy... Staying Connected: Google Mobile (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Reader) Linkedin Twitter Facebook Skype Foursquare Hootsuite AIM Staying Organized: Evernote Things Remember The Milk Dropbox Xmarks VehiCal LogMeIn Location information: Around Me Zagat Google Maps Bing Search Build your own app resources to create your own app for your phone: http://www.readwriteweb.com/mobile/2010/12/30-plu... These resources are only a suggestion. You need to evaluate what's right for your needs. As discussed during the presentation, by downloading and activating apps on your mobile phone/device/computer, you may unintentionally expose personal information to the developer of the application. So you'll need to decide if you are willing to accept that risk.

Reinhart Marketing Group : 10 Mobile Apps To Help You Organize Your Business

Thanks Levi for the suggestion... I'll check out Simplenote. Several other people have said to me that Evernote is complex and I'm not sure why. I love it because I can sync the same data conveniently across 4 computers/devices. If I don't want to install the software, I can still access via a web browser. Here's some details about how I use Evernote: http://www.reinhartmarketing.com/news/evernote/

Thanks for the comment, Elizabeth. Sounds like a good business opportunity for you or someone to compile and share/market niche lists of mobile websites. I periodically update http://m.chaos365.com -- If you have a list of link suggestions, please post them here in the comments and I may add them for the community to use.
Thanks for the feedback, Pete. I've noticed that as I've been doing more and more business networking, many conversations ultimately steer into talking about kids and family challenges, and the affects on professional life. It simply can't be partitioned and ignored. Keep up the great work you are doing for dads in Australia.

The Daddy Dialogues : TDD-019 - More Money Saving Tips

NYTimes posted a few new articles and video regarding CFL bulbs. Also discussed quality problems. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/28/business/energy... Couple things I learned: - If broken, double bag the remains and throw out in your regular garbage. There are small amounts of mercury in it. - Some stores will accept burned out unbroken bulbs for proper disposal. - Look at the Kelvin rating (or "K" rating). Soft white is 2700-3000, white is 3500-6500. The higher you go, the bluer the light gets. Daylight is the bluest. - Don't use where light wont be on for 15 minutes. Constant cycling reduces their life.

Thanks for the comment, Janice. Another interesting concept I learned about recently is "zero waste manufacturing." There are environmentally friendly companies that try to manufacture products where no materials used in the manufacturing process are thrown out. Here's a company/product like that: http://www.rickshawbags.com/#/products/large_zero...
