There is another reason Michal may have been angry at David. She had loved David so much she helped him escape Saul defying her father and possibly risking her life. Saul gave her to another man, but David never came for her. Instead he took other wives. When those wives were captured, he took his army to rescue them, but he never attempted to get Michal back until after her father and brother were killed. Then she was followed by a husband who cried at losing her all the way. By this time she knew what it was to be loved. David was celebrating while she was mourning the loss of her father, brother and husband. In those days having been raised in the court, she probably knew what it was to speak her mind to the king. Perhaps as wives often lash out at their husbands when they are angry this is what we are seeing. Perhaps she no longer wanted a relationship with David and hoped he would either kill her for her action or put her away silently in the haram where she could be left alone.
