As you've probably heard......the city is about to run out of cash to pay its bills by April of this year. Mayor Bing is in negotiations with the unions to reign in their demands.
Like many of us....they'll have to get used to 'doing with less'.
Anyway....celebrity filled commercials and a pep talk.... falls short of the reality check that Detroit ,and many of its residents, need at this point.
I know...I live outside of Detroit, and I used to teach school there.
Detroit's problems have built up over a 50+ year period. And, the socialists that were/are in charge...... elected to line their pockets with grant money, etc., rather than take decisive action that might have avoided today's very grim situation.
About it being 'half time in America'.... isn't HALF TIME used to make adjustments in the game plan if that 'game plan (the last 3 years)' isn't working?!
