Every thing you say is true. Can I add one additional point that being obama seems Risk Avoiding, so goes for the low hanging fruit that have high chance of succeeding thereby keeping his Ego unsoiled. IMO someone carrying High Ego and a Sense of Parental Abandonment will protect that Ego and Sense of Self by going for the easy Stuff.
