the thing is this isn't about money, they could care less about that or nature worship. what the powers that be want is the power that comes with controlling the money. think about it. if they get to decide how many "carbon units" you get and can charge you for more or supervise the trading or selling of those units, they control where you live, how you live what pets you can or can't have, what you eat, what you drive, where you go, how many kids you have - everything would be tied up to carbon units. you could get exemptions I'm sure if politically connected, but not the common man
