I learned indeed via my blog that this can happen.but i have the latest generation samsung tv and it does not happen this way (unless i missed a setting)

Apple can t rely on someone else hardware to control the access to OS. they never agreed on computer or mobile devices. so i guess this won t happen on the TV which is the next big opportunity for the non/post PC internet

ps: indeed you an change the source from your cable tv remote, but nobody does that and it is still too cumbersome

Horace

i think it would be even more interesting to relate the growth of those digital items to the growth of sold devices. I would be curious to know for example if the growth of songs is still driven by growth of devices sold or simply by consumption. that would be a perfect complement to your last graph (growth after x months launched)

Chris, this is what http://Appsfire.com has been building over the past 12 months: an engaging discovery service for consumers which soon will be distributed in an SDK. You find there your social graph, geo recommendation, price notification, twitter/facebook buzz, blog buzz, playlists of apps...all this is a super simple visual experience... We re reaching 600k downloads and are consistently rated high on iOS and Android.

Flurry is only providing in app discovery in a catalog manner. which is not enough.
