My daughter now uses a different insurance company with her preexisting condition. It costs me a bit more, but she is covered. It is a matter of negotiation. My point is that we as a society have failed our children by not teaching them how to stand on their own. I have a long time before she is 21, but I damn well am tossing her off my insurance when she is. Tort reform is a HUGE issue. I have had to close two companies due to lawsuits. Unions costs are passed onto the worker in the form of higher dues and to the employer in the form of higher wages (deserved or not). Finally, single payer may work in a nation of 30 million but not a nation of 300 million +. Unless you are factoring in taxation, you are ignoring business expense.
