The article is not exactly correct. If one goes back in history one can clearly see that president Sarkozy has always wanted to reform France. But he was stopped at every turn by the Socialist party and the unions. I guess now the president has decided he has nothing to lose and is pushing forward, even if it costs him his re-election. If that is the case that is a courageous position. If only an election ploy, shameless.

This article is incomplete. S&P also said that a smile increase of the debe ceiling will NOT guarantee the US keeps its ratings. Structure reforms are required.
