only two shows on regular tv I am a regular watcher. House and Bones. I will miss Dr. House. I love his take no prisoners attitude. Telling the TRUTH to people can be horribly unpopular, but you never wonder where you stand with a person who does it.

I expect it would be better than it is now. I worked for Kmart 20 years ago and made more money then than I do now. I wasn't union then and I moved right along and got regular raises, days off, etc, etc. The reason is that the UNION here says I can only make a wage they say I deserve. They are limiting my pay. I was told when I hired in there is a union cap on what a clerk can make, otherwise they would have started me at a higher wage because of my experience. I took the job anyway, cause I don't work simply for money at my age.

why do I work there. I am 65, I want a part time job,in a very small town. Kroger is a great company, if you read so much you would find out they are the number one generous company in the nation. They go way beyond what the Union says they must do for their employees and the community. It isn't Kroger that I dislike, they aren't forcing me to do anything, it is the force applied by the Union that is wrong.

My husband retired from GM. I know all about unions. We watched them screw him too.

Yep, I think I would be making MORE money if that damn union was outta there, however, that damn union won't prevent me from doing my job for Kroger, NOT for them.

I realize you are full of union crappola and can't/won't promote anything else, so that is the end of my conversation with you.

it isn't that simple. Why should I have to leave a job I like, which I am good at? I like my employer. I do not like being forced to pay a union to not represent me. We have baggers that are teenagers, it is a small town with few places for kids to work. Kroger is great with them, making concessions for kids with school and activities, so most of them only work a few hours a week, ten or fifteen. Some weeks, not at all, but they still have to pay those union dues. Even when they work NO hours, the union gets it's money the next time they get a check. What 'freedom' is this? Why do the unions works have more rights that the rest of us?

they are standing up for ME. I work at Kroger and am FORCED to give them money every week even though I am part time and they don't offer me any of their benefits. What about MY rights?
