That's one reason why I want read Kathy Reichs as I'm so in love with Bones - it was a bit of a shock reading Jim Butcher after watching The Dresden Files. Always hard I think when books become TV series which one to love...

Thanks for the link - I'm coming to this very late then ;) I'm glad that you don't get it either - for want of a better phrase. I just don't know what else to say but I'm with you - why can't they just not publish them - are readers becoming that blood thirsty?

It\\\'s more shifting time - so the amount of books mentioned are less but more informed - hopefully making it easier to choose a book - depending on if you like the book ofcourse. Twitter is a brilliant distraction so i\\\'m happy to use it when I can\\\'t do much else. Though following 500 ppl it is hard again to find the ones that fit! I see you\\\'re blogging a bit yourself - looking forward to reading more :D

I'm listening to Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell - I'm scared by the book but slowly making my way through the audiobook. The videos of The Death of Bunny Munroe are fun - might have to get the iPhone app to get the lot in one go! Glad you're enjoying it.

Oh yeah, definitely, personally I was in awe by the number of amazing people in one room, including my friendly neighbourhood bloggers. And from a blogging point of view it really solidified the ideas that have been going around in my head that publishing something is an event. And not just to raise a book's or publisher's profile. But as a culmination of all the work that goes in to it. It can't be all Gollancz I'm afraid as someone sneaked me copies of The Naming of the Beast by Mike Carey - master of Urban Fantasy and Philip Palmer's Red Claw that has my vote for most striking SF cover of the year!

@Jem - yeah the trouble with so much choice is that books constantly get swamped! Great to see this one going up stream. @reader - He's famous for so much. You might know him from his guest spots on Bones, he used to work with Hugh Laurie form House. He's an intelligent, funny, humble (in a way), fascinating and a good egg all round.

Thanks - I kinda cheat. As I Mac boy I use a program called Blogo to write posts on. It has a bookmarket so that when you highlight text in a browser it adds it to a blog post as a quote and sticks a link at the end of the text. I'd to love to be able to have the link at the top but it would take too long to figure out! I've done a few lists with just links in them but I don't don't get that many people clicking on them or at least I don't think they do. So I'm trying to entice some interest :D
