I'm so looking forward to getting a dress for my birthday. I was going to do it for my 30th, but since we're doing the vow renewal, I just have to re-do my 30. I think my best purchase was my computer. For the longest time, I had to use other people's computers, and considering for the longest time the internet/IM programs were my only way of keeping in touch with my husband, it wasn't a good thing. But computers are expensive, and I wasn't sure I was ready to take the plunge. Well, I blew a whole paycheck on my laptop on a whim one month, and I'm glad I did. I still don't like Vista, but I feel happy that this is my computer, and I can do what I need to with it. In the future though, I hope I can nab a macbook, my holy grail of computers.

Haha...I proposed to my husband on the internet one year after we were together. I was about eighteen when I did it. My husband and I were chatting, and after having a bad day, he made me feel so much better, and I just blurted out "will you marry me?" I think he was stunned by what I said, because it didn't quite register. I took it back immediately, and proceeded to feel so silly. In the end though, I didn't get an elaborate proposal, but that's okay. We lived together in Canada for eight months, but then I had to leave when they didn't extend my stay, we were devastated. So I moved to a small town in Alaska in order to be close to him - it's only 6 hours away from him by ferry. A few days after I arrived there for my new job, he said "So...you want to get married? Like, in a month?" I was stunned, but I knew I wanted to marry him after all that happened. And what would have just been a trip to City Hall turned out to be a beautiful wedding by the ocean - a day I will never forget.

Everything is so colourful! It reminds me of when I'd travel to places like DeKalb, Illinois and en-route to St. Louis, Missouri - small towns with scenic areas such as the ones you took pics of that are beautiful. Even now, the Canadian town I live in is just like this, and though I've always been a city girl, and really a city girl here in a place where everyone knows each other. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip!
