Notes of This Native Son : Monster & Diesel Team Up For Sleek Vektr On-Ear Headphones

But I wonder if the broke people will buy these, they're less gaudy -- they're not attached to a major rapper or media impressario. I think they're aiming for professionals who have a little disposable income who like rocking sleek, new hip items.

Notes of This Native Son : Why Men Hurt

Peace Queen,
I've been where you are right now and it was a truly difficult storm, but after the rain came the sunshine. Stay true to you. What people do is jump right into something to get over the last situation but they don't quite get over it because they never deal with it. Then 5 years from now when you're all well and good that same brother will want to be with you and by then it will be too late. Just tend to your garden and be the Queen God made you to be.

Madame Noire : How Many is Too Many?

what I don't understand is this "no woman is going to tell you the truth". If a woman can't tell the truth about something so simple how can we spend the rest of our lives together. This convo came up a few weeks ago and a sister straight said she'd lie to her man.... What???? Where's the trust?

Madame Noire : Thoughts On "The Donald" & the Obama Birther Debate

Latinos, Asians, Jews and other groups don't have a problem holding their President's feet to the fire on issues that are dear to them. It's sad that because we have a black president blacks offer support with no quid pro quo. Now that's asinine.

Madame Noire : Why Mr. Cee Matters

I really appreciate your comment. You were brave and totally honest which is the type of discussion that is needed. Kevin Powell once told me that in his younger days he was a serious homophobe and it wasn't until he had a gay mentor of sorts who taught him many lessons about being a man that he was able to see the error in his ways. I can't say that a gay man is any less of a man because of his preference. Let's be real, speaking from a the privilege of being straight and having the ability to reproduce there's a certain "I'm the original man" that comes with that. Same as with my view of white men, we have the need to create these hierarchicall systems that aren't necessarily rooted in any substantive reasoning. I love your point though. Just because discrimination is illegal doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. It's alive and well, and while we still feel the effects of slavery we can be thankful that the whites only signs are taken down so that daily we don't see government sanctioned reminders that we're less than. I'm sure gays don't think life will be perfect but they are interested in at least having safe spaces to be themselves.
