I highly recommend The Buddha in the Attic. Listening was amazing.

I meant to tell you that I LOVED listening to The Buddha in the Attic. I will post my review this week.

I do live in the woods! 100+ acres of national park reserve behind our property makes for a peaceful view.

I can't wait to read/relax in this room. It's a May - Oct room (today it's 19F, -7C) , with no heat on the porch... it will be a while before we can enjoy it.

When I blew out my knee, I opted for alternative medicine to avoid surgery. I have some great exercises to strengthen you leg muscles.

Do you have access to a bosu ball (the blue ball that is flat on one side)? If yes, put ball side down and stand on the flat side. 3 sets of 15 squats with your eyes closed! This forces your leg muscles to take over (removing one of your senses). You will be surprised how hard it is. If you don't have a buso ball stand on two/three pillows to start... making the ground unsteady.

Let me know how this works.

I should explain my 1,200 calorie plan. Short version: I work with a nutritionist to understand what my body needs and how it processes food. Genetically I require very few calories (sad for me), so I only need 1,200 calories while I'm training. It had never dawned on me that coming from a fishing village in northern Sweden, with a diet of fish and potatoes = efficiently using calories. Interesting ha?

I remember your wipeout! I have a terrible wipeout running alone in the woods, blood on both legs and both arms... not sure how I did that! Anyway, my left hip hasn't been the same since. To top it off, when I do fall (it happens on the trails) I always seem to land on my left hip. Not good.

I did great on 1,200 calories yesterday... until about 8PM when I emptied the frig. grrr... I ended the day around 1,600.

Have a great week!

Did you know a Macaron is completely different than a Macaroon? Imagine my shock when I was expecting coconut and received maringue with cream filling!

I haven't been working with Canada for about three years, but I'm now responsible for them once again. This means I will get to start visiting my favorite bookstore!

Enjoy getting your room ready. I'm having fun decorating... have you been on Pinterest? You can get some great ideas out there. I'm making something today, it's drying but I will take a photo once done (written word artwork).
