StartupCFO : Saas Math: Why are you NOT spending on marketing?

When I 1st entered the startup World the running joke among CFOs was we knew that 1/2 our marketing spend worked, we just did not know which 1/2. Now, almost every marketing activity is measurable. So, to your point: there is no excuse. You should be marketing.

StartupCFO : Functions over Titles

Sounds like you have approached things well. There is a place for titles. My point is that place does not include pitching seed VCs and also really should not apply to anything during that seed stage. When you truly become a company and the team is growing some structure is useful.

You raise some great points but I'd say that people who join because of title might not be the best long term cultural fit. And as for VC interactions you need to remember that VCs need to make snap judgments on th spot. We need to know you are focused on what matters. Bandying abut lofty titles does not help

Thought abut deleting this. Too bad you felt the need to be rude and unprofessional. I never said code year was too hard. But I won't fool myself into thinking that I can be a developer doing it. And it's not my place to be one. I have other roles to play in the life of a startup

StartupCFO : Choosing the Right Accelerator

Good point Chuck. Timing is something to consider - though truth be told, I'd rather adjust my timing to fit the accelerators that are best in terms of Networks, Mentors, Capital rather than go with one where the timing is good.
