Patter Breck: I wanted to mark the passing of actor Peter Breck who died on February 6 at the age of 82. He was best known for his role of Nick Barkley, the touch-as-nail middle brother in the 1960s western The Big Valley. A U.S. Navy veteran, Breck joined the Warner Brothers studio and worked steadily in television. He also played a Kennedy-like U.S. Senator in the Outer Limits episode O.B.I.T. and Doc Holiday on Maverick. He made few movies although Samuel Fuller 1963 film Shock Corridor has a cult following. One performance of Mr. Breck’s that I wish I could watch was as Teddy Roosevelt on Bronco.
