you're both right, if you have stock ios 4 you still cant restore the custom pwnagetool 4.0 in itunes, i have the same thing. How lame is that? They should stop focusing on ipods and ipads but more on people with actual phones

this is true. Hey dev team you know if you made this stuff worth only a dollar to us on paypal or something then everytime apple released new software you'd all make around 250,000 + dollars . NICE.

To check iPhone 3G/3GS bootrom version:

Put your iphone in DFU mode.
(Connect your iPhone to iTunes, turn off, click power+home button for 10 seconds, leave POWER button after 10 seconds, holding HOME button)

iTunes will detect your iPhone in recovery mode.

Go To:

Start->Control Panel->Device Manager

In Universal Serial BUS Controller, you will find Apple Mobile Device USB Driver

Right Click and go to Properties, go to Details tab and select "Device Instance Path" from the drop down list box.

In that information, u will find [iBoot-359.x] at the end.

do you have the new bootrom if you've ever updated to the legit 3.1.3 or to 4.0 GM ? Or is the new bootrom only included on iphones bought recently??
