The audacity of the occupy protestors is amazing. How dare them think that they are above the law and above everyone else. Who do they think they are? Can you imagine if Obama protestors had done this? What would the occupy folks say about it? The same thing everyone is saying about them: GET OUT!

This is just another reason we need strict term limits. Career Congressmen become absolutely too into themselves and greed begins to infect them.

It will have a huge impact, as well it should. When you have a coverup just because the person is well liked, then you will have a backlash. However, if the community had condemned this to begin with, then the impact would have been lessened. Students rioting didn't help, the community "supporting" him also didn't help. They are the victim of their own actions.

You also did very much compare it to 9/11. Your own words were, "I've talked to a great many people there this week, and it reminds me of 9/11. They are horrified, shocked...illusions shattered. It all descended on them so rapidly, they're having a great deal of trouble sorting it out." I still say that though you are trying to focus on "reactions" the reactions are still not the least bit the same. Suffice it to say that we will agree to disagree on that point.

As for jobs, internships and other such things, I will agree that it is a shame. It's just that this is not the first time something of this nature has influenced a local economy and it certainly will not be the last. When you rely too much on one particular entity for economic value it is destined to fail, eventually. The first thing that comes to mind are military base closures. We were Army and we lived in some of those towns. Closures were devastating, but local towns relying on the Army for income were a slave to the military bases by their own making.

In the end, they will get through it. It may take time, but they will.

There is a reason Americans make fun of the French government all the time (I'm sure you've heard the 'Did you hear about the new French flag? It's all white!' joke). Their judgement history does not have a good running record, and now we get to add this. As for Obama, I've said before that he is Barney Fife and I stand by that today; he proves it moment after moment and day after day. What can you really expect from a Barney Fife running a country? Obama is intelligence challenged, broken clock or not.

I'm with you on working so Obama doesn't have to "deal" with people (like us) that he doesn't like, which is pretty much anyone he doesn't agree with.

The problem here, with your comment, is that no one is denying the "shock" to the community. Where has that been said? What YOU must understand is that it is an abomination that the students and community members are rallying to Paterno's side.

How can you possibly compare this to 9/11? When that happened, which Americans were rioting in favor of the terrorists? I know of none. That's a ridiculous analogy to make. Sorry, but there it is.

I do believe in innocent until proven guilty, but it would serve the students and community members well to reserve such outspoken support until they hear all of the evidence. They will be the ones with egg on their faces, at the minimum. Were it me, I would ostracize them all forever. After all, football is only a game and how can anyone insinuate that a coach is more important than the crime of child molestation, which is more than a despicable act?

It doesn't come as a surprise to me. Look at all the liberals who rallied to that child molesting director. I can't remember his name right off (like he matters anyway), but I think (goodness I hope) he's still not allowed to enter the country. If I remember correctly, Whoopi Goldberg showed what an idiot she was by supporting him, saying that it was "consensual sex".... but deliberately avoided adding the rest: "WITH A MINOR!!!" I am SO glad my kids aren't going to Penn, because clearly they aren't getting the education that they should be getting since they ignorantly rioted over it, knowing full well the accusation is child molestation. No educated person in their right mind would disagree with the firing nor arrest.

Funny this should come up at this moment. My son is home for the weekend for Veteran's day. He said his professor, during lecture, was gloating over Perry's flub and said, "Well that will make it so much easier for us (she was speaking of Obama) to win!" I thought their jobs were to teach, not preach.

Wait. What? Sean believes that "caring capitalism can make a difference." Does he now? That's really strange because I thought that the Occupy movement was against capitalism. I have to laugh at his idiotic "caring capitalism" comment. Ben & Jerry's is trying to compete with other corporations, right? If Sean is so "caring," then why not share his recipes so we all can make money off of it? That's only fair! Why should they be the only ones to make money? The nerve! Obama would be so displeased with him.

He's a jerk, just like all of them down there.

I doubt they'll admit their mistake, but I sent them an email and here's what I wrote, "Thank you for posting about Occupy and your support to them. You've just saved me tons of money. I will no longer buy any of your products. I consider myself lucky that you were dumb enough to post your support, so I can ban you on such a personal level. Good luck to you. I hope you go bankrupt."

Here's the thing: we cannot allow this issue tear conservatives apart. Let's face it, our arguing amongst ourselves is lowering us to Democrat standards. I'm willing to bet that some liberals are responsible for this mess. Feeding into one another is a bad choice.

Our end goal is to rid ourselves from Obama's nightmare and get a conservative in office. Rather than finger pointing they need to get past this and get back to the issues.
