I would love to be a beta tester for the iphone app but the form link seems to be broken.
###EDIT###
This was a problem with my adblock app blocking the popup from an external website. I was able to get in despite my best efforts. Sorry if I caused a firedrill.
Should we expect to see this in our friends view or when others check in nearby? Have you looked at using dandyid.org to populate people's social services as well as increasing your list of services (not all of us use last.fm) ? Good addition guys.
This is a great article. I've learned most of the above the hard way. I do disagree with you about paying for the wifi. I see having a stable wifi connection as a perk of me doing business there and in recent years has gotten much more reliable as shops figure out they get less repeat customers if their wifi sucks. I also find the following to be helpful:
1. Make sure you charge all your gear before leaving the house, preferably the night before. This way you avoid downtime while stalking power outlets.
2. Use two or three places as your regular stops and learn when they are busy. I usually hit up one place in the morning, grab some lunch and then hit up another in the afternoon. Most shops will have a strong morning or afternoon crowd, I try to use that to my advantage.
I'm on the side of launch with a solid product. Nothing bothers me more than a product that actually takes more time than it's web equivalent because it is constantly crashing. While I wished that Brightkite had their app ready for launch I appreciate that they aren't going to waist my time with a piece of junk.
