The 'Ropolitans : What the blogs have to say about Omar Minaya and Adam Rubin [Mets Blogs]

I have somewhat of a different take on this entire fiasco. Minaya said 2 or 3x in the press conference that they expited or used some wording that they quickly pushed along the investigation of the allegations of Tony B, which would have been after Adam Rubin's stories came out. My thought is that Adam gets the info, prints the story, the Mets organ had no choice but to investigate as the story was out there already. Minaya was stumbling during that press conference until it came to the part about Adam Rubin and him lobbying to be a part of the organization. He was pretty crystal clear on that part with vengence. So, my take is that Adam prints story, Minaya was hoping that the allegations would have been brushed under the rug and kept internal but when they were leaked out, he had to act (which pretty obvious he did not want to fire Tony B and then he got his revenge. Just my thoughts as why ever would you single out a reporter for printing a story? Sorry Minaya, this could not be brushed under the rug.

Kerel - site looks great. Fantastic use of space and also great layout to allow the sufficient white space. Very nicely done. PS to coment on the brown bag - at least we are still at that level and not hefty bags to cover more!

Injuries and illnesses are really going to take a toll on us. Maybe it is a sign that we will be healthy in the later part of the season and go all the way. Thanks for the update Vazz

The 'Ropolitans : Ex-Mets: Scott Schoeneweis’ wife found dead at home

My goodness, 39 years old and her 14 year old was the one to find her. Thoughts and prayers to the Schoeneweis family during this very difficult time. Kinda makes losing a game not matter so much.

Let's look at the 11 LOB. if 1 or 2 of them came home before the 9th we would have or could have won this game. The errors - they happen from time to time with players playing out of position. However a problem that has plagued the mets is the LOB. Just so many so often. Solve this problem and we will see less close games. Funny I predicted to@darknova that redding would give up 4 hits; guess I was close but so WRONG! Missing the bag- inexcusable. In our jobs we are expected to peform to a certain level and missing a base is below that level. He will beat himself up over it more than we will We only allowed the dodgers, team with best record in bb to score 3 runs on 5 hits and took it to the 11th. That is something positive as I am sure no-one gave us a chance, not even most mets fans. Disappointing loss, certainly but not completely or me ever ready to stop believin in the amazin!

Hey Andrew - I tried someting to see and made a clig of http://theropolitans.com/2009/04/casey-fossum-dfa... and within 10 min it got 13 hits. So your blog hits are 13 more =-)! Live blog for the marlins stint? I might have to break down and stop being so cheap and get the mlb on the computer for the METS games so I can be as depressed as the rest of the mets fans!

I just found out the other nite and I tried it (cli.gs)and it is pretty cool to see how many people do actually open it. I posted the story about how Venezuela is giving NJ back a little island b/t NJ and PA where the Citgo is and I got 33 hits on it. Best part is that NJ will not get it back until 2020. LOL

Tell Fletch to pipe down over there! Haha. Actually, I like my 48 or is it 52" tv too much to throw something that could hurt her! Fletch has to be freaking as I believe the Yanks are in jeopardy of a sweep tonight??? Andrew how come you are still using tinyurl and not cli.gs or bit.ly as you can track how many people open the story.

Just pitiful! 3 relievers no hit us? Again just pitful. Instead of just being in the toilet, we got flushed! Not so sorry I did not see it or there would have been numerous pillows thrown at the tv.

The 'Ropolitans : The State of the Mets [Video – 4/24/09]

Well now that I am trying to stay positive with the 7 ERA by the rest of the pitching staff ... It is April. Yes, we have some issues that need to be worked out and have lost 4 in a row and our wins were not great ones but we know a W is a W. The talent is there and again it is April. They will go and lose 3 or 4 in a row in the summer too (just hopefully not in august). Pitching needs some help but all the problems can be fixed and throwing in the towel with only 15 games under our belt and firing people may just cause more chaos. Power of positive thinking. Stint with Nats that we can pull together and start a winning streak. As always, thanks for your insight.
