I guess we need a way to cover the cost of the new illegal alien program. Legal aliens pay $28k, illegal aliens pay $9k

We agree, his orientation is not important to the case, his rationale stands on its own merits. The people who are still in the stone ages and believe it is a choice simply can't use this argument as it invalidates their bias argument.

"Proposition 8 backers had asked the 9th Circuit to set aside Walker's ruling on both constitutional grounds and because of the thorny issue of the judge's personal life.... Walker publicly revealed he was gay after he retired..."

Maybe he "decided" t be gay after he retired and "decided" to be straight while on the bench?

Using your yardstick, adoption by handicapped, low IQ, and other less-than-perfect people should be discouraged. If a child is born to a partnered gay person, should the child be taken away and adoped out to a straight couple?

an excerpt:

" Overall, parental sexual orientation has not been
found to be associated with child and parent outcomes
in studies of lesbian and gay parents and their children.
Rather, research suggests that family processes, such as
parenting quality and attachment, are more important
predictors of child outcomes than is family structure.
These associations have been found both in biological
and adoptive families, and among families with lesbian,
gay parents and heterosexual parents (e.g., Chan et al.,
1998; Erich, Kanenberg, Case, Allen, & Bogdanos,
2009; Lansford, Ceballo, Abbey, & Stewart, 2001).
These family process variables are likely to emerge as
more important than parental sexual orientation to
child and parent outcomes in adoptive families with
lesbian, gay, and heterosexual parents, but these issues
have not yet been explicitly studied."

So children stuck in foster care are better off than with a loving gay couple? What data do you have to show they have better outcomes and higher quality of life?
